What's the turnaround?
We aim to turn the artwork photography around in 2-3 days but this can depend what other work we have scheduled into the studio diary. If the work is urgent give us a call and we’ll try to oblige.
How do you match the colours?
All artwork photographs are colour profiled on a calibrated monitor and printer to ensure accurate results everytime.
What exactly is a Giclée print?
Giclée is a French term meaning “to spray”, which is exactly how an inkjet printer works and how Giclée prints are usually produced.
ALSO: The digital file of the artwork must be at least 300 dpi. The printer must be a wide format printer and use at least 8 pigment based ink cartridges, not dye based. Finally, the speciality paper should be designated as museum archival paper.
What's the difference between a print and a GICLÉE print?
Quite simply, the quality of the Giclée print is far superior.
What paper and inks do you use?
We mainly use 3 non-glossy museum archival artist papers; Museum Heritage 310 gsm, Gallery Etching 310 gsm and Photo Art Silk 290 gsm. Each paper has been approved by the Fine Art Trade Guild and meets print standards.
Our wide format printer uses a 12 ink Giclée system using Premium Quality LUCIA pigment inks. This offers accurate colour reproduction and enhanced print longevity.
Can you print copies for me?
Of course we can. We store the digital file of your artwork so we are able to print from it whenever you request.
* Note: The digital file is owned by you and we only print when instructed to do so.
Do you only photograph paintings?
No, we photograph all types of media including watercolour, oils, acrylics, photographs, canvases, charcoal drawings, pencil, pastel, pen and ink. We also photograph sculpture, ceramics and metalwork pieces.
